On Friday, November 22, 2024, a wine tasting seminar titled “Festive Wine & Taste Celebration” was held at the festively decorated St’ Nicholas Business Club, specifically in the “DNV HELLAS” conference hall. The seminar was presented by the distinguished Certified Sommelier Ms. Giovanna Lykou, in collaboration with the renowned liquor store “Periklis Winosophy” owned by entrepreneur Mr. Periklis Belitsos.
Ms. Giovanna Lykou, with her extensive experience and deep knowledge of the wine industry, provided a comprehensive introduction to the art of wine tasting. She presented three exceptional labels from the Greek vineyard, showcasing authentic Greek grape varieties. During her presentation, Ms. Lykou delved into the unique characteristics of each wine, highlighting their aromas and flavors while offering invaluable tips for pairing them with festive meals. She also shared creative ideas for enhancing holiday dining experiences.
It is noteworthy that participants received a certificate of attendance for the wine-tasting seminar, signed by Certified Sommelier Ms. Giovanna Lykou.
Ms. Lykou is a graduate of History and Archaeology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA), specializing in Contemporary Art. She studied Oenology and gained experience in top-tier wine bars and gastronomic restaurants. A certified Sherry Educator with an award for excellence from the Consejo Regulador de la DO “Jerez Xérès Sherry,” she is also a certified spirits trainer. Currently, she serves as the Wine & Spirits Director at House of Wine and has been an instructor at Le Monde’s Department of Oenology for the past eight years, where she also graduated. Ms. Lykou is a member of the Hellenic Sommelier Association (P.E.N.O) and the creator of the brand “Awesomm Lady.” Her expertise is featured in various websites and publications, with her favorite being Grape Mag. She has also appeared on radio and television programs and has conducted numerous presentations, tastings, and training sessions for both individuals and professionals.
Following the seminar, a grand party took place in the Executive’s Bar – Hall of A General Group, where attendees enjoyed the premium wines from the presentation, paired with fine cheeses, artisanal cold cuts, unique jams, imaginative canapés, and dried fruits. The lively atmosphere was enhanced by upbeat pop music, creating a cheerful and festive setting.
